YOUNG HATS! | Student Theatre Workshops
ACTING SHAKESPEARE STUDIO for 5th-8th Graders PRESIDENT'S WEEK, February 20-24 & SPRING BREAK, April 10-14
YOUNG HATS!
Old Hat is thrilled to announce new Acting Shakespeare Workshops for 5th-8th graders!
Open to students in grades 5th-8th, these week-long intensives cover a range of performance skills, from dance and movement to speech and voice, and provide a strong foundation for reading and playing Shakespeare. Students learn Shakespeare scenes and monologues and devise a performance for the final day of class, incorporating techniques they learn throughout the week.
Elizabeth Sutton-Stone and Caity Richards each have over 20 years training in a range of performing arts, and over 8+ years experience as Teaching Artists. They have devised this program to answer a need for challenging, exciting, multi-disciplinary student programming.
Each workshop is tailored to fit each particular group of students. So all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome, from the timid first-timer to the Shakespeare enthusiast! We offer a rich and exciting introduction to Shakespeare and Performance. Our goal is to help young artists unlock and hone their creative powers.
